About Blue Firesleeve

Blue Firesleeve

The Aerospace Grade Firesleeve is fabricated from a bulk braided fiberglass yarn substrate with  thick liquid silicone rubber coating. Coating process of silicone rubber on fiberglass sleeve makes this firesleeve flexible, expandable for connectors covering.

Properties:
Firesleeve is made from braid high bulk glass fiber sleeve and coated flexibility Silicone Rubber can withstand repeated exposures to molten steel, molten aluminum and molten glass up to 3000 degree F (1650 degree C).
The aerospace grade coating of our proprietary iron oxide red silicone rubber compound sheds molten metal splash immediately, so very little heat transfer occurs.
When exposed to flames, the silicone rubber transforms into a crust, creating a protective SiO2 refractory layer.
Excellent modulus of elasticity makes it an ideal choice for bundling hoses, tubes and cables in a variety of hostile environments.

Applications:
The typical applications include protecting hoses and cables in steel mills, aluminum smelting plants, offshore drilling rigs, foundries and glass manufacturing facilities.

The silicone coated fiberglass fire sleeve features an excellent modulus of elasticity, allowing it to easily stretch an expand over fittings and connectors. The outer cover offers excellent resistance to most industrial chemicals and hydraulic oils. Additional uses include the bundling of multiple hoses and cables together, while providing good abrasion resistance.

In applications where operators and maintenance personnel are working in the vicinity of steam lines or hot oil lines, there is always the danger of employees incurring serious burns from the branding effect of hot braided hoses. The silicone rubber coated sleeve provides effective burn protection from steam lines while insulating against costly energy losses. Applications include rubber vulcanization operations, platen presses, infection molding plants-anywhere hot steam or oil lines are used.

High-Performance Thermal Protection

The Blue Firesleeve is engineered to deliver robust heat insulation and flame resistance, making it ideal for hostile environments such as foundries, steel plants, and automotive workshops. With continuous protection up to 260C and short-term durability against molten metal splashes at 1650C, it ensures critical equipment such as hoses and cables remain safe and functional.

Customizable Solutions for Industry

Available in a wide range of diameters, thicknesses, and lengths-from 1 to 50 meters per coil-the firesleeve can be tailored to specific requirements. Customization for size, length, and color is possible on request, providing flexibility for unique setups across various sectors. Its flexible construction eases installation and handling.

FAQ's of Blue Firesleeve:

Q: How does the Blue Firesleeve provide protection in high-temperature environments?

A: The Blue Firesleeve is designed with a fiberglass inner tube and a high-grade silicone rubber outer layer, which together offer continuous thermal protection up to 260C and short-term resistance to molten splashes as high as 1650C. This construction effectively shields hoses, cables, and wiring from extreme heat, flames, and occasional molten metal exposure.

Q: What types of applications is this firesleeve suitable for?

A: This firesleeve is ideal for safeguarding hydraulic hoses, pipes, cables, and electrical wiring in industrial settings where high heat, flame, oil, and abrasion are concerns. Industries such as steel manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and energy commonly use this product for thermal and mechanical protection.

Q: When should I consider using this firesleeve in my setup?

A: You should use the Blue Firesleeve wherever your hoses, cables, or pipes are at risk of exposure to high temperatures, direct flame, molten splash, or need additional abrasion and oil resistance, ensuring uninterrupted performance and longevity of your equipment.

Q: Where can I source Blue Firesleeve and are there customization options?

A: Blue Firesleeve is available through distributors, exporters, manufacturers, suppliers, and traders, particularly in China. Customization is available upon request for size, length, and color, accommodating specific industrial needs and installations.

Q: What is the process for installing the firesleeve?

A: Installation is straightforward: simply slide the firesleeve over the hose, cable, or piping section requiring protection, ensuring a snug fit. Due to its flexibility, it can be easily maneuvered over bends and fittings. Custom cut lengths further streamline the application process.

Q: How does the firesleeve benefit equipment and operations?

A: By providing superior flame resistance and maintaining structural integrity under heat and stress, the firesleeve prolongs the service life of equipment, reduces downtime, and ensures safety in hazardous environments. Its low water absorption and oil resistance also contribute to reliable, long-term performance.
