About 0.8 Mm Thickness Vermiculite Coated Fiberglass Fabric
0.8 Mm Thickness Vermiculite Coated Fiberglass Fabric
A specially formulated, fine vermiculite dispersion that encapsulate the glass fibers and greatly increases resistance to abrasion and temperature. In tests, glass fabric coated with vermiculite has retained its integrity after exposure to a propane blowtorch for short period at temperatures of 2000degree F / 1093degree C. However the fabric does become brittle locally after exposure to these extreme temperatures and are not recommended for applications where flexibility is important at high temperatures.
Properties:
Vermiculite improve the abrasion resistance and higher temperature performance.
Its tough, durable and resist metal splash and welding spatter
Used at 1500degree F / 815degree C continuous
Capable of withstanding temperatures of 2000degree F/ 1093degree C for short periods
Applications:
Welding spark protection blankets/ curtains, plumbers pads
Insulation mattress/jacket cover material
High temperature fabric seals
Fire protection
Superior Temperature ResistanceSpecially designed with both-side vermiculite coating, this fiberglass fabric withstands continuous heat up to 815C (1500F) and short-term exposure to even higher temperatures. Its robust construction makes it ideal for fire barriers, thermal insulation, and welding protection, ensuring safety in high-risk environments.
Versatile Industrial ApplicationsThanks to its durable and heat-resistant composition, this fabric is utilized in a variety of industries for welding spark curtains, fire blankets, plumbing pads, and insulation covers. Its adaptability addresses both standard and emergency fire protection needs across manufacturing, construction, and maintenance sectors.
FAQ's of 0.8 Mm Thickness Vermiculite Coated Fiberglass Fabric:
Q: How is the vermiculite coating applied to the fiberglass fabric?
A: A specially formulated, fine vermiculite dispersion is carefully applied to both sides of the glass fiber fabric. This process encapsulates the fibers, enhancing their thermal and fire resistance while maintaining flexibility.
Q: What benefits does the vermiculite-coated fiberglass fabric offer compared to uncoated alternatives?
A: The vermiculite coating significantly increases the fabric's temperature endurance and flame resistance, making it suitable for hazardous environments. It also reduces dust off the glass fibers, improving safety during handling and installation.
Q: When should this fabric be used instead of standard fire-retardant materials?
A: This fabric is ideal when applications demand prolonged exposure to high temperatures (up to 815C or 1500F) or occasional brief surges to 1093C (2000F), such as in welding, furnace protection, or insulation jackets, where ordinary materials might degrade.
Q: Where can this fabric be installed, and in what form is it supplied?
A: Commonly used in factories, workshops, or construction sites, it is supplied in 50-meter rolls with widths of 1 meter or 1.5 meters, enabling easy customization and installation for various protective and insulation purposes.
Q: What is the main usage process for welding spark protection or fire barriers?
A: Simply cut the fabric to the required dimensions and position it as curtains, blankets, or covers near welding and high-heat operations. Ensure it is securely fastened or draped to shield against sparks, molten metal, or radiant heat.
Q: What are the main advantages for industrial distributors or project managers choosing this fabric?
A: This product offers reliable thermal performance, broad application flexibility, and compliance with demanding safety standards, making it a cost-effective and trustworthy solution for large-scale orders or specialized protection projects.
