About Para Aramid Fiber

Para-aramid filament is 100% pure aramid filament fiber.

Feature

High Strength and High Modulus

Due to the high hydro-gen bonds, the strength of para aramid can reach up to above 28g/D. Its specific strength is 5-6 times that of steel wire , its specific modulus is 2-3 times that of steel wire or glass fiber , and its flexibility is 2 times that of steel wire while the weight is only 1/5 that of the steel wire.

High Temperature Resistance

Para aramid can be used continuously in a very wide temperature range from -196 deg C to 304 deg C.It has no decomposing or melting at 500 deg C.Its tenacity remains 75% after 100hours under 200 deg C.

Good Chemical Resistance

Para aramid is acid and alkali resistant, anti-aging with good adhesive force in rubber.

Specification

Para-aramid filament is available in 600Denier ,750Denier,840 Denier,1000 Denier, 1500 Denier,3000 Denier,6000 Denier and 9000 Denier.

Application

Widely used in safety guard, sports, industrial production, communication lines, etc.

Exceptional Thermal and Flame Resistance

Para Aramid Fiber is engineered to withstand intense heat, maintaining its strength up to 200C and resisting decomposition until temperatures exceed 500C. Its self-extinguishing properties (LOI > 28) make it a reliable choice for high-risk environments requiring superior thermal protection and flame resistance, such as firefighting suits and bulletproof vests.

Customizable for Specific Applications

Available in both continuous filament and staple fiber styles, Para Aramid Fiber is offered in a range of thicknesses, widths, lengths, and packing methods (bobbin, spool, bale pack). This flexibility allows manufacturers and engineers to select exact specifications required for end-use applications, including automotive reinforcements, cables, and composites.

High Strength with Lightweight Construction

Despite its low density (1.44 g/cm3), Para Aramid Fiber possesses an impressive strength-to-weight ratio and a high tensile modulus. This, in conjunction with its excellent abrasion and chemical resistance, delivers durable and lightweight solutions for industries from defense to automotive and industrial safety.

FAQ's of Para Aramid Fiber:

Q: How is Para Aramid Fiber typically used in industry?

A: Para Aramid Fiber is widely applied in manufacturing protective clothing, bulletproof vests, composite materials, ropes, cables, automotive parts, and reinforcement systems where strength, thermal stability, flame resistance, and durability are critical requirements.

Q: What makes Para Aramid Fiber a preferred choice for protective clothing and bulletproof vests?

A: Its high tensile strength, low elongation at break, self-extinguishing flame resistance, high abrasion resistance, and light weight provide life-saving durability and comfort in safety gear designed for extreme conditions.

Q: What are the benefits of Para Aramid Fiber's excellent dielectric properties?

A: The fiber's excellent dielectric properties make it ideal for use in electric insulation applications, ensuring safe and reliable performance where strong electric insulation is required, such as in cables and electronic composites.

Q: How is Para Aramid Fiber packed and supplied to customers?

A: It can be supplied on bobbins, spools, or bale packs according to customer requirements, and is distributed by manufacturers, exporters, and suppliers globally, including from China.

Q: What are the limitations of Para Aramid Fiber when exposed to sunlight?

A: Para Aramid Fiber exhibits moderate UV stability; prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light can degrade its performance, so it is advisable to use appropriate protective coatings or finishes when the fiber will be exposed to significant sunlight.

Q: When should Para Aramid Fiber be selected over other reinforcement materials?

A: Choose Para Aramid Fiber when a combination of light weight, high tensile strength, resistance to heat, flame, abrasion, and chemicals are required, especially in applications demanding thermal and flame protection.

Q: What safety and environmental considerations are associated with Para Aramid Fiber?

A: The fiber is non-toxic and does not support combustion, making it safe for human contact and end uses. Its very low volatile matter content and non-melting behavior further enhance its safety profile.
