About Ceramic Fiber Rectangular Braided Rope

Ceramic Fiber Rectangular Braided Rope

Produced from an extremely pure alumina-silicate ceramic fiber. Available with fiberglass yarn reinforcement or Stainless steel wire reinforcement

An alternative to asbestos based rope. Highly flexible and minimal shrinkage

Provides low thermal conductivity and good dielectric strength and features excellent corrosion resistance. Used at degree F/1260 degree C continuously, molts above 3000 degree F/1650 degree C

Common applications for this rope include asbestos packing replacement, radiant tube packing for heat-treat furnaces, expansion joint packing for furnaces, seals for stoves and ovens, bulb in tadpole gasket and door seal insulation

Versatile High-Temperature Performance

This braided ceramic fiber rope withstands temperatures up to 1260C, making it suited for sealing furnace, kiln, and boiler doors, gaskets for piping, and expansion joints. Its alkali-free composition minimizes degradation in harsh thermal environments, while low thermal conductivity (0.13-0.18 W/mK at 800C) enhances insulation efficiency.

Designed for Industrial Safety

Engineered to resist fire and most chemicals, this rope is asbestos-free and offers excellent fire protection. Its water absorption remains 1%, maintaining structural integrity under varying humidity. The rectangular braided form increases versatility for industrial uses such as fire protection and heat sealing.

FAQ's of Ceramic Fiber Rectangular Braided Rope:

Q: How is ceramic fiber rectangular braided rope typically used in industrial applications?

A: This rope is commonly used for insulation, sealing furnace, kiln, and boiler doors, creating expansion joints, and as a gasket for high-temperature piping, thanks to its good flexibility and high fire resistance.

Q: What are the main benefits of using ceramic fiber ropes for thermal insulation?

A: Ceramic fiber ropes provide excellent fire protection, high thermal stability up to 1260C, low thermal conductivity, and resistance to most chemicals, making them highly effective for maintaining temperature and safety in demanding environments.

Q: When is it appropriate to use this rope instead of other insulation materials?

A: It is recommended to use ceramic fiber braided rope in high-temperature or fire-prone applications where conventional insulation materials may fail or degrade, especially above 1000C or where non-combustible and chemical resistance are critical.

Q: Where can these ropes be installed within a facility?

A: They are ideal for installation in furnaces, kilns, boilers, high-temperature pipes, and as expansion joint fillers in areas exposed to extreme heat or the risk of fire, providing reliable protection and sealing capabilities.

Q: What process is used to manufacture ceramic fiber rectangular braided rope?

A: The ropes are made through a high-strength braiding technique using alkali-free ceramic fibers, resulting in increased tensile strength and durability without the use of asbestos or harmful coatings.

Q: Is this product resistant to all chemicals, and are there any exceptions?

A: While the rope resists most chemicals, it is not recommended for environments where hydrofluoric or phosphoric acid exposure is likely, as these can degrade the material.

Q: Can the dimensions and coating be customized for specific project requirements?

A: Yes, dimensions (length, width, thickness) and surface treatment options such as graphite or varnish coating can be tailored to meet the unique needs of various applications and installation conditions.
