About 3mm Aluminium Foil Laminated Texturized Fiberglass Fabric
3mm Aluminium Foil Laminated Texturized Fiberglass Fabric
Aluminium foil laminated fiberglass fabric is constructed from a high temperature base filament/texturized fiberglass fabric which is then coated with highly reflective polished aluminum foil. The aluminum foil coating melts at 1220degree F/ 660degree C, however it does take some time for the aluminum foil to absorb enough heat to melt, thereby it can withstand short exposure to the higher temperatures. The basic fiberglass fabric is 1000degree F/537degree C, while adhesive will burn-off or vaporize at temperatures above 300degree F/148degree C.
Properties:
- One side coated with Aluminum foil. Protection from intense radiant heat
- Reflects more than 95% of the radiant heat that contacts its surface
- Excellent radiant heat protection from sources such as super-hot metal slabs, proximity to liquid metal, infrared heaters, open flame / plasma or engine exhaust manifolds is a concern
Applications:
- Serve as a welding defender, heat protection quilt, foundry splash protection
- Conveyor belt and expansion joint
- Chemical corrosion resistance, packing material
- Used for aerospace, marine, chemical industrial, power plant, automotive, construction, pipling flexibility and sealing industry.
PSA(pressure sensitive adhesive) Available
This fabric is also available with a self-adhesive backing. The adhesive is water adhesive based, and will burn-off or vaporize at temperatures above 300degree F/148degree C.If prolonged use of the self-adhesive fabric above 300degree F/148degree C is desired, then alternate securing methods such as fasteners, wire or clamps should be used.Personnel should avoid inhaling fumes from the PSA.
We have a SuperTemp adhesive can work at temperature 280degree C continuously.
Exceptional Heat and Flame ResistanceConstructed from high-quality texturized fiberglass, this fabric withstands extreme temperatures and prevents heat transfer, making it an excellent barrier in welding, foundry, and industrial heat protection scenarios. The aluminum foil lamination reflects radiant heat, significantly enhancing thermal efficiency and ensuring robust protection in critical applications.
Multipurpose Industrial ApplicationsThis laminated fabric serves diverse roles across industries including aerospace, marine, automotive, construction, and chemical processing. It is utilized for making heat protection quilts, welding blankets, splash protection barriers, and flexible connections in expansion joints, as well as being a reliable material for chemical corrosion resistance and packing.
Durable and Flexible PerformanceThe fabric's sturdy plain weave and texturized base deliver superior mechanical strength and flexibility. This allows for easy handling, cutting, and fitting into tight spaces, making it suitable for complex piping systems and dynamic sealing requirements without compromising effectiveness or durability.
FAQ's of 3mm Aluminium Foil Laminated Texturized Fiberglass Fabric:
Q: How is the 3mm Aluminium Foil Laminated Texturized Fiberglass Fabric constructed?
A: The fabric is made using a high-temperature texturized fiberglass base in a plain weave pattern. One side is then laminated with a highly reflective polished aluminum foil (18/25 micron thick), enhancing both thermal resistance and durability.
Q: What industries commonly use this laminate fabric and why?
A: Industries such as aerospace, marine, automotive, construction, chemical, and power generation widely use this fabric for heat shielding, welding defense, splash protection, and chemical resistance due to its exceptional durability and versatility.
Q: When should you use this product for heat protection?
A: Use this fabric whenever thermal insulation, radiant heat shielding, or splash protection is needed-such as during welding operations, in foundry environments, or for creating protective quilts and barriers in high-temperature applications.
Q: Where can this laminated fiberglass fabric be applied?
A: It can be used in manufacturing facilities, power plants, shipyards, construction sites, and chemical processing plants for applications including conveyor belt coverings, expansion joints, insulation quilts, packing materials, and protective seals.
Q: What benefits does aluminum foil lamination add to the fiberglass fabric?
A: The aluminum foil lamination increases the fabric's ability to reflect radiant heat, boosts chemical corrosion resistance, and provides an additional barrier against molten metal splash and sparks, thus enhancing worker and equipment safety.
Q: How should this fabric be used for packing and insulation?
A: Cut the fabric to required dimensions using appropriate tools, wrap or cover the areas needing protection, and secure it using industrial fasteners or tapes. Its flexibility and strength make it easily adaptable to complex shapes and spaces.
Q: What is the process of manufacturing this laminated fabric?
A: The production involves weaving a robust base of texturized fiberglass fibers, then coating one side with a layer of polished aluminum foil using heat and pressure to ensure strong adhesion and consistent lamination quality.
